how to transition your Summer clothes into Fall

With Fall quickly approaching, it becomes apparent and very necessary for me to re-work some of the items in my wardrobe presently. Don’t get me wrong, I will definitely be adding some absolute Fall/Winter must-haves, but of course only if I can mix up four to five different looks from those purchases (like this amazing faux leather moto). Leading me to this little number; transitioning my Summer neon-colored closet pieces into seasonally appropriate attire.

Luckily, for us down here, shorts and dresses will probably be worn till about December. Once cooler temps drop, adding black tights and my pea coat will make these pieces winter wearable for sure. My rule of thumb for taking neons from Summer wear into Fall is simple. I switch my neutrals for black and blues, but more often black. It’s kind of a no-brainer, but it helps make my Summer purchases a bit more justified when I can get more than one season out of them.
Granted, when you’re culling your wardrobe for season switchover, there will always be items designated for a time and place, it never hurts to think of your purchases in forms of seasons rather than trends. It keeps your shopping focused, and you feel better about the purchases you do make.
Happy Shopping and thanks for reading!
