summer makeup in 7 simple steps

summer makeup

Awwww…Summer. How I love thee. Beaches, swimming, being outside all day, picnics. Love it ALL. Most of all, I love that I can get a (ahem) tan (ok so I always do a spray tan – who am I kidding?!), making my skin so glowy & almost flawless. Almost.

During the Summer, you want to have easy peasy lemon squeezy makeup.

The throw on in 5 minutes & go kind.

Enter – - Summer Makeup. Here are SEVEN SIMPLE STEPS to switching up your makeup for the Summer months!

Side Note – try not to stretch out your face like I’m doing in this pic. Hehe.

You should A L W A Y S be wearing SPF during the year…but especially in the Summer. If it’s not in your moisturizer, make sure it’s at least in your foundation.
CURRENT FAVE MOISTURIZER: Benefit Total Moisturizer
I’m completely obsessed with Beauty Balm. Especially now. It gives great coverage without looking cakey or settling in my lines.

ALSO – You can always add dots of concealer after your apply the Beauty Balm, too. Ever since I found out I was prego, my skin has been CRAAAZAY. So blemishes and I are BFF’s right now, unfortunately.

CURRENT FAVE BEAUTY BALM: Too Faced Beauty Balm SPF 20
I mean, Bronzer in the Summer goes without saying, right?
I happen to wear it all year, cause I’m pale as a ghost. I make Casper look tan. Really. :)
TIPS FOR APPLYING BRONZER:
CURRENT FAVE BRONZER: NYC Smooth Skin Bronzer
Powder blush is great. But in the Summer months, I like to swap it out for Cream Blush. It gives your skin a dewy, glowy look & stays PUT. You can also apply a small sweep of powder blush on top of the cream to make it last even longer.
CURRENT FAVE CREAM BLUSH: Bobbi Brown Pot Rouge
*Fave all time colors – Pale Pink & Calypso Coral*

You canNOT go wrong with a bronz-y or a peach-y colored eyeshadow. It goes with pretty much all skin tones & gives your eyes that subtle pop.
CURRENT FAVE: Nars Duo Eyeshadow
*Fave Duo Color- Pale Peach/Shimmering Bronze*

Load up on that Mascara, girls! Waterproof in the Summer is a must, too!
Apply the highlighter (powder or cream) around the “C” shape of your eye, and pat in.
My favorite highlighter of the moment is Benefit’s High Beam. It gives you that dewy glow, without making your face look like a big greaseball! PLUS it lasts forrrrrrrever. Totally worth the moola.
I live and breath Maybelline’s Baby Lips during the Summer. Well, all year, really.
They have SPF, gives you a perfect amount of color, and they really..well just cant be beat.
Pretty sure I have every single color. I just checked. I do. Addict, much?
Easy, right? Summer, here come our beautiful, glowy faces!! :)
Make sure to come & say hi to me over at my B L O G, where I’m going to have lots more tips on how to Rock Your Summer this year!
