fall pretzel bark recipe

Fall Pretzel Bark

1 bag of pretzel twists

1 cup of butter

1 cup of brown sugar

1 cup of chocolate chips

Almonds

Reese’s Pieces

Here’s a fun holiday candy recipe for you!  I love making toffee around the holidays!  I always make holiday treats to bring to my neighbors, but I can only bake one dozen cookies at a time.  If I only baked, it would take me days to make enough treats for all of our neighbors.  So, I’ve started experimenting with candy making because it doesn’t require an oven. Toffee is pretty easy, and quick, so it has become my holiday favorite.

This recipe is a fun mix of toffee, and candy bark.

First, line a jelly roll pan with foil.  Then spread out your pretzels.

Next, melt your butter and sugar together in pot on the stove.  Continue stirring until it begins to bubble and melt together.  It’s best to use a candy thermometer here.  You want it to get to the “soft crack” stage.  Just under 300 degrees.  Once it does, pour it over the pretzels.  You might have to spread it around a little bit.

Right after, pour on the chocolate chips.  Let them sit for a minute or so and they will start to melt.  Then just spread them around on top of the caramel.

Once your chocolate is spread out, sprinkle with with whatever toppings you want!  Some fun ideas are sea salt (for salted caramel bark), M&M’s, Reese’s Pieces, Almonds, etc.

Let it cool, or put it in the fridge to cool more quickly, and then break it up and serve it.
