This is such an easy fun wallet. I use it as a business card holder but it could be a small wallet / credit card holder OR a fun little gift to add to an Easter basket ;)
This is a great way to use up fabric scraps you have laying around too!
- Fabric for outside
- fabric for inside
- button
- elastic or rubber band
- interfacing / light batting
- scissors and sewing machine
- 2 pieces at 4.5X4.5 inches {these will be your pockets}
- 3 pieces at 4.5X4 inches {this will be your outside, inside, and liner}
3.) cut your rubber band in half or your elastic to size
3.) take the two square pocket pieces and iron them in half
4.) stitch about 1/4″ down from the top across each Pocket half
- outside first {right side up}
- pockets {stitched part on the inside {right side down}
- inside fabric
- liner
- put the rubber band between the outside layer and the pocket layer on the short end
6.) sew around the edges leaving an opening to turn it right side out on the long side *remember to back stitch*
7.) snip the corners and turn it right side out
8.) iron the opening shut and machine or hand stitch shut *NOTE- hand stitching will look best and most hidden*
9.) mark where the button should go and hand or machine stitch it on *NOTE – make sure you hold the pocket back so you don’t stitch it closed*
DONE!
